Absolutely loved this throwback to Stuart Gordon’s best Lovecraft films.   While it’s lighter on gore than you might expect, it is full of delightfully deranged body swapping craziness and the unhinged performances you’d hope for from Heather Graham, Barbara Crampton and Judah Lewis.

Thank you Joe Lynch.   Well done sir.

    Thank you Joe Begos.

This was the Christmas slasher meets Terminator thrill ride I didn’t even know I needed.

I absolutely adore Begos’ 16mm red filter signature style with a throbbing 80s esque score from Steve Moore.   This one adds one of my fav new lead bad ass “cool” chick performances ever by Riley Dandy.  She better become fucking HUGE cuz she deserved it.  I see she’s in a bunch of Christmas/romantic movies thst I can’t bear…

Movie night with Marlo (and this time Mom).  We all enjoyed this selectively surreal and often funny quasi musical animated film.   The voice work was good, animation top notch and we all laughed out loud on multiple occasions.

Entertaining if a bit two dimensional in its depiction of the various players.

Haven't watched this in over a year and a half and as I had cued up Cozzi's Black Cat and had time for two I decided to start with one of my favorites and one of Argento's very best. I have the Synapse 4K UHD and WOW. the picture quality was astounding. Super bright colors and perfect grain. Just so good.

I was struck by how otherworldly this one is from the very beginning. Argento pulls from his Bava playbook…

Why is this movie so difficult to find?  This absolute gem of philosophical black comedy horror should be available to stream and in multiple high quality collectors editions, restored with a 4K transfer and tons of extras.   As is I was able to get the shameless Blu Ray after a misadventure with a German blu ray that apparently is only 3D? The Shameless disc is serviceable, but certainly…
