The Devil All the Time

The Devil All the Time ★★★

This felt to me only okay, so to say. Perhaps it's best viewed as an object lesson in the difficulties of adapting a novel into a film for no doubt in it's original book form the themes of the cycles of violence and religion in America play out strong and well over its pages...
However truncated into a singular film form, even in a longish film, those themes come across as a bit overdone, overwrought, and heavy handed.
With that being said it was still well done enough and with a solid cast that's a veritable who's who of weird strange white people.
