Look, a lot of films suffer from too much exposition. So rarely do you watch something that you’re imploring the creator for more background. After a brief opening narration, we jump right into action with Underwater, to the point it feels like this was a 2 hour movie chopped down to 90 minutes.
Some good thrills, but definitely a multiple years old (long enough on the shelf that TJ Miller appears) January dump by the studios.
Kristen Stewart does solid work in the lead and almost makes the overarching “This is a metaphor for grief” idea work. Almost.
