The Grand Budapest Hotel

The Grand Budapest Hotel ★★★★½

The Grand Budapest Hotel tickled my fancy quite a bit. Ralph Fiennes is brilliant as M. Gustave. The cinematography is stupendous, both in its color and it’s meticulously symmetrical frames. Wes Anderson delivers a masterclass in whimsical writing and charm, while also adding a surprising touch of brutality. Wonderfully offbeat, I only wish I had seen the film sooner.
