Cole Duffy’s review published on Letterboxd:
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know the current mood is “eat the rich” or whatever. Still: Downton Abbey is a satisfying conclusion to one of the most popular and most awarded television series in recent memory, packed with a stellar cast and elegantly designed. Can we allow ourselves to relax, hear the swell of the wonderful theme song, and enjoy Maggie Smith quip and zing people below her status for two hours? It reminded me what made the show great in the first place, and for this fan of the melodramatic soap opera, that’s more than enough.
