My All-Time Top 30

A tentative compilation of the movies I consider the greatest my eyes have ever met. The placement criterion is not strictly quality per se, but mainly how dear and significant it is to me, personally. Some selections may seem baffling to you, but believe me, even the most reviled films have their admirers.

The lack of films from directors I admire is frustrating - Robert Altman, Clint Eastwood, Elia Kazan, David Cronenberg, William Wyler, M. Night Shyamalan, Fred Zinnemann etc.

Eligibility rule: the film must have been released at least 10 years ago.
