Crescendo House is a new boutique distribution company that aims to reinvigorate the American film landscape with a new model for distribution.
Here on our HQ Page, you'll find everything froms news on our upcoming releases, exclusive lists from cast & crews from our films, and more casual updates about the inner-workings and development of our burgeoning label! We’re especially excited to be here with an HQ account -- so many of us on the team first got recognized/ introduced to each other through this site years and years ago, and remain active to this day.
We’ve been hard at work bringing Labyrinth of Cinema, our inaugural release and the final film from Nobuhiko Obayashi (of House fame), to theaters and home video. Our limited-edition SteelBook® is already available for pre-order on our website with a street date set for September 27th so take a look if you haven’t had the chance. The Crescendo House team has spent the past few months working with the Obayashi estate to bring this landmark film to life and represent its director’s unique madcap style with physical media. After a successful festival encore at JapanCuts earlier this month, we’re excited to also announce that Obayashi’s swan song will soon begin its theatrical run in NYC on October 20th, as part of Metrograph’s reopening slate! In the meantime, you can find our US theatrical trailer here.
Keep in touch with us here, we’ll soon be making announcements on our next two titles -- Julian Radlmaier's Marxist Vampire comedy Bloodsuckers, and Zhang Lu’s trilingual but understated ghost story Fukuoka. We should be able to get away with continuing our unorthodox release model after the early successes of LoC, and hope that we can count on your continued support to bring wider visibility and accessibility to these overlooked titles to spruce up the distribution landscape with some new auteurs!
