Pretty crazy pretty wild I liked it. Nice movie.

  • Aliens

    Aliens

Saw the Special Edition at IMAX. Cameron was forced to cut the runtime for the theatrical release so some stuff had to go in the bin. Unlike Alien where I don't think it matters, I would actually recommend the Aliens director's cut over the theatrical as someone's first time. I prefer this version for a few reasons:

    1. Ripley having had a daughter who passed away adds so much more context to her relationship with Newt that I don't understand…

Saw this and Aliens at IMAX. It was the "director's cut" which was done for a DVD extras set under Ridley Scott's supervision. I've seen it before but I prefer the theatrical version, as does Ridley if I remember correctly. The "eggmorphing" scene placed right after Ripley has started to escape just hurts the frantic feeling of that sequence, for me anyway. Still one of the greatest movies ever made no matter which cut you watch. Funny how Ridley and Ripley are such similar names.

    Love Story 2050

OK. So. The 2 hour Amazon version was the only version I could find that was watchable. And the torrent stalled at like 98% so there were couple seconds missing in a few places. So it was a bit of a mess to watch. BUT. I liked everything up until the 2050 part. When they got to 2050 I had no idea what was happening. 50 minutes of the movie were cut out from this version for some reason. I…

    Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai

Didn't like this one. It took like an hour and a half for the guy to die! The movie failed to grab me at the start so it became a background watch. I get that the goal is to get you invested in their relationship but I did not care. Being almost 3 hours didn't help.

    Dhoom 2

The bad guy in this movie is so cool he's basically the good guy. The ending is just incredible. One of the best movie endings ever.

    Dhoom

This was OK. The action was fun but there was a lot of boring in between. The music was pretty cool and a couple of the songs actually slapped.

  • Veer-Zaara

    Veer-Zaara

A wonderful romance movie of epic proportions. The main character Veer is so frickin smooth he just pulls the most poetic shit you will ever hear out of his ass. It's a loooong movie but absolutely worth it if you like this melodramatic stuff.

    3 Idiots

This was really good! Fun and happy. Some weird stuff, like a fun song and dance transitioning straight to someone's suicide, the hell was that?? But otherwise a nice movie with a good message.

    21 & Over

This was pretty funny. Maybe it's just because I haven't watched a comedy like this in forever, I dunno, but I really enjoyed it.

You know that old quit-smoking ad where the kid gets lost in the train station and starts crying and then YOU literally almost start crying? This is that but for TWO HOURS. I've never seen something so relentlessly sad in my life. Just when you think it's gonna start getting happy, NO. YOUR FEELINGS DON'T MATTER. Powerful movie.

Sidenote: Dev Patel's Aussie accent is impeccable. I'd have just thought he was Australian if I didn't already know he was British.
