Ghostbusters II might be known as the movie that killed the franchise for more than two decades but in reality it isn't all that different from the first film.
Admittedly it does have a notably lighter tone and it rehashes plenty of plot points from the original, but the core elements are all in place. Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson remain a strong group with great chemistry, and Sigourney Weaver is equally compelling to follow.

Bridesmaids has such an ironclad reputation as a trailblazing comedy but I do remember being slightly underwhelmed when I first saw it and I'd hardly say I've warmed up to it much.
Credit where credit is due though, the film manages to straddle the line between laugh-out-loud comedy and having genuine human emotion really well, and the cast are all great and so funny too. Melissa McCarthy is such a scene-stealer here but Kristen Wiig is also really compelling inโฆ
You've really got to hand it to Mattel, because you can clearly see why Margot Robbie never thought they'd be allowed to make Barbie as it is. It takes plenty of self-referential shots that needed openness on Mattel's end, so they deserve praise for that.
Barbie is a gorgeous, pastel fever dream of a film that has more to say than many might give it credit. It's frequently funny, it examines the impact that Barbie has had on our cultureโฆ
Watcher is a gorgeously presented stalker thriller that manages to be effective and investing, though unfortunately it doesn't take the well-worn concept in any fresh directions.
Maika Monroe is the standout in a quietly understated role, having to portray a character who is tormented by anxiety, isolated from everyone around her and constantly told that she is merely paranoid. Setting Watcher in Romania with Monroe's character not being able to speak Romanian definitely accentuates that isolation, and not providing subtitlesโฆ
