The Oyster Princess 1919
there’s definitely an element of spectacle to the film as the massive sweeping crowds of butlers and cooks and dancers move in such a way that the choreography at hand is clearly key. foxtrot sequence and all, this bit of the film is its big appeal, as it stays entertaining for a minute or two but then starts to kinda wear thin on me. same goes for the comedy in general. most silent film comedies are exercises in practical slapstick,…
