Wonderful! Just an all-around great time throughout. This is also one of those movies that you could recommend to a teenager or your grandmother and they would probably enjoy it equally as much.
The ensemble cast here is really great. Nobody is half-assing their performance and the ways that the characters bounce off of each other, while feeling quippy at times, comes across as very natural.
Christopher Plummer is fucking awesome whenever he's on screen. Chris Evans played a very cartoonish asshole character that reminded me a lot of his performance in Scott Pilgrim VS The World. After a decade of seeing him play almost nobody but Captain America it was really refreshing to go back to that sort of character for him.
I really thought that I had the mystery figured out right off the bat, but even though I got some parts of the mystery right, my expectations were subverted in really cute ways that only Rian Johnson would try to pull off.
I'm really glad that this movie is making as much money as it is. It's one of the only wholly original films to come out this holiday season and it still has a very Agatha Christie vibe that it wears on its sleeve.
Rian Johnson mentioned that he wanted to make sequels if this movie was a financial success.
I can't wait to see what they have to offer.
