WINTER "HIGH ART" MARATHON #100
One day before spring, I'm a man of my word. I got up at 8 AM and started watching this before my 2 PM shift.
I'm seriously torn on which one I like more, this or the first one. I love the father/son narrative, but it also made me love the first one even MORE knowing all this backstory.
This movie really is a masterpiece and definitely one of my favorite sequels of all time. This is one of those movies that feels long in a good way, you totally get immersed in the setting the whole time and the two narratives going back and forth flowed perfectly.
There isn't really any "weak links". All the acting, directing, editing and story were A+
What the fuck do you want me to say, it's fucking Godfather Part II, it's great.
I've learned so much this winter about film history, but now I'm gonna give myself fully to the Criterion Collection.
This Spring, I'm gonna watch 100 films from Criterion in celebration of their channel launching this April.
Can't wait to get started.
