I loved how grumpy everyone is in this movie!
Seriously though, I found this movie so much more interesting than most of the recent batch of superhero movies (including Nolan's DK trilogy, and especially the Marvel movies). Yes, Marvel makes superheroes more fun, and if your preferred version of Justice League is more Super Friends than Watchmen, your best bet is to stick with The Avengers.
Bats v Supes is downright dour (and apparently so am I). Think Watchmen: The Origin Story. Batman brands criminals and even stabs a dude right in the chest!
Maybe it's watching this right on the heels of rewatching Starship Troopers, but as Batman and Superman both struggled with the consequences of their choices, I kept thinking of this line: "Violence, naked force, has settled more issues in history than has any other factor." I think this movie points out that our culture tends to define as heroes only those who have extra-ordinary abilities to deliver violence. Rarely do we find a superhero who has a non-violent-centric superpower. When we do, they are the villain (think super-intelligent characters like Ozymandias and Lex Luthor).
Oh and I just have to say that Wonder Woman's theme music was amazing!
