Leave No Trace ★★★★★

A father and his thirteen year-old daughter are living in an ideal existence in a vast urban park in Portland, Oregon, when a small mistake derails their lives forever.

Leave No Trace is pretty much the perfect Independent film. You are fully on board with the two main characters right away but thankfully there's no big "oscar speech" moment that you would get in a studio film of the same story. In a just world this would get the same buzz around awards season as Ladybird (which it is superior to) but I suspect not.

My number 2 of 2018 so far.
