One that I can’t wait to watch over and over again. The thesis on creative emptiness and its calculated perspective are both striking and brilliant. Each scene I am reminded of a different director, realizing how much this film and Fellini influenced many prestigious filmmakers alike.

It may focus on the struggles of filmmaking, but its narrative is a fine translation of humans’ desires to innovate and conceive a personally arresting idea with ambition but also cohesion. The film is a beauty to marvel, but it is mostly a mind-wandering sentimental think-piece that represents Fellini’s innermost conflicts; therefore unless you are Fellini himself, it’s probably the least penetrable film out there. Although, getting your audience to connect is half of the struggle, isn’t it?
