evil martin scorsese be like: “that’s cinema!!”
edit because i was flagged:
i had hopes for this simply because it was chloé zhao, but unfortunately her brilliant talents are put to waste here. golden hour shots and imax aspect ratios are overused without any consideration for proper framing despite the third act looking pretty good. all depth is gone by the time kingo (ironically one of the highlights of the film) or any other character says their fiftieth joke. from what i thought was promised in the first trailer, which had no vibranium broken table conflict, to be an unapologetic cinematic experience from one of our most interesting filmmakers actually turned out to be nothing but a pandering trite to the typical marvel formula that kevin feige tirelessly continues to produce.
