Casper ★★★½

"Casper" is, to me, what "The Goonies" is to a lot of people: a children's adventure film that's inconsistent but ultimately moving. The production design is bananas-amazing, the score is top-tier Horner, and the quiet emotional musings on death are surprisingly touching and extremely melancholy for an otherwise slapstick-y kids movie. It's an extremely sad movie, and I'm very fond of it.
