Damian’s review published on Letterboxd:
It’s fair to say I wasn’t disappointed in the slightest, another brilliantly directed film by Spike Lee. The first hour drags a bit but as soon as ‘5 bloods’ embark on their quest in Vietnam, the movie gets really good. The last 1 hour 30 mins felt like a breeze, some of the unconventional filmmaking was breathtaking. The story was emotionally impactful and relevant to what is happening today in America. Delroy Lindo deserves an Oscar nomination, what a performance.
Clay Davis’ “ssssshhhhhiiiiitttt” was music to my ears. The Wire rewatch is now pending....
