Elvis 2022
Maximalist filmmaking that absolutely lacks any sort of subtlety. Any criticisms about the avoidance of Elvis's problematic history are completely justified BUT it's also shiny and ridiculous in a way that only Elvis ever could be and paired with Austin Butler's legitimately fantastic performance it really comes together better than it has any right to. Still not entirely sure what Hanks is doing but it's not enough to ruin a film that is weird, camp, and very Baz Luhrmann.
