    Silent Film challenge: Week 1
    Incredible forbidden love story that:

    1) Relies predominantly on visual story telling. Only uses 2 title cards at the beginning of part 1 and 2 but uses written notes and letters to express the story. This is something I wish more films would focus on.

    2) Refuses to white wash in a time when it was the done thing. Not a single white actor apparently which is extremely ahead of its time.

    Once you get past how old it is, its actually a great watch.
    Very wholesome and sweet. Animation is pretty unique and great to watch.
    Highly recommend.

    Resivour Dogs meets Pulp Fiction meets In the mood for love meets some random cult films meets arty shit meets fuck this film is an experience.
    Pretty much raps up the 1960's and cinema.

    Not the biggest fan of Tarantino, I feel a lot of his films are bloodthirsty trash but Tarantino kind of put his formula on its head while still being an auteur.

    Would watch again, IN CINEMA!
    Film of the year. Maybe even decade.
