Daniel Cruse’s review published on Letterboxd:
This movie’s cast is insane, with great players ranging from Michael Cera to Brie Larson to Chris Evans and Aubrey Plaze, there are so many people in this movie. Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s Ramona Flowers is one of those characters you just fall in love with alongside the protagonist, and she did such a good job in the role. Michael Cera is as awkwardly charming as I expect him to be here, and their chemistry is hilarious. Ellen Wong is really great as Knives Chau as well.
The music and effects do so much to bolster the video game style of the film, and the pop up asides that give the film the graphic novel look are funny and very creative.
