Daniel Johnson’s review published on Letterboxd:
This is such a bizarre, cheesy, ridiculous movie that I can't help but love it. I won't say it's bad, but I certainly wouldn't say it's good either.
After watching Henry V and seeing how Branagh used lighting, I was quite excited to see his take on noir, but this is set almost entirely in the daytime which is very disappointing. I want to see him direct a 1940s black-and-white noir because he absolutely nails the flashback scenes in this. They feel straight out of classic Hollywood.
