"The Nice Guys" aren't nice at all. Crowe's Healy is a natural murderer, and Gosling's March is a liar and a thief. At least he doesn't lie about being a thief, though.
The spectacular sets make the film FEEL like it was shot in 1970, and there is even subtle commentary relevant to today. Talk about electric cars, driverless cars, and terrible smog really help bridge the gap between the two generations.
