Hereditary may be the scariest film I've ever seen; unsettling in the highest order. With horror brought out through themes of regret and uncertainty and a sense of dread progressively heightened through chilling subtleties, Hereditary achieves a level of horror only reached by masters of the genre: the kind that is not so easily shaken. I felt completely helpless and destabilized by the places this film goes, but I could only be fascinated by Ari Aster's remarkable control over the craft.
Can't wait to see it again. 88/100
