Flower Drum Song

Flower Drum Song ★★★½

A great Rogers and Hammerstein production with a respectable nod towards traditional Asian culture. The USA is truly the world's melting point, and the Chinese population and culture of San Francisco during the 1950-60's are represented so well in Flower Drum Song.

It's innocent, takes pride in the tropes of love and comedy, but manages to be inclusive towards Asian actors in an otherwise American-styled musical.
