Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Star Wars: The Last Jedi ★★★★½

MY FREAKING ANXIETY was through the goddamn roof this whole movie waiting for the moment I would have to say goodbye to Leia forever and **SPOILER** ....I ended up holding my breath the whole damn movie!!!
Each time something happened I was like, well, this is it.... And then she’d turn out fine but then BAM another moment where again I’m thinking, well, this is it... I need to rewatch this now and just fully enjoy it because I was a wreck of nerves the whole time.

But besides that... wow. This was better than the first in my opinion. So many amazing moments that I don’t want to spoil, but just, wow. And that ending??? So much hope. So much potential. Everyone in the theatre was cheering the whole way through the movie and I just looked around like YES!!! THIS IS WHAT MOVIES ARE MEANT TO DO!!!  Community and family and morality and triumph and just pure heart-racing magic. I truly had such a fun time.
As I was watching I kept trying to imagine a world before Star Wars and how bland things must have been. Haha. But also how there’s probably another amazing cinematic world in our future we’ll one day not be able to believe we didn’t have as kids...
Idk. I just love the movies, man.
Also, so amazing to see Billie along side her mom throughout this whole film. I wanted to reach out and hug her through the damn screen.

ALSO!!! The whole anti-mansplaining theme and respecting women in positions of power aspect??? My god??? That was so necessary and pure magic, especially since Star Wars’ audience tends to lean to the male side. I’m so thrilled to see what the future holds. Thank God (but really the people behind the cameras) for the movies.

RIP Princess ✨✨
