Ramsay makes sure every shot in this film is uncomfortable, with context or without (I am the context.). And nothing is more uncomfortable than any shot were Tilda Swinton is made to look remarkably similar to Ezra Miller. It's harrowing, but darkly comedic too, in a way, as the plot really pushes the limits of human empathy and understanding. At least Tilda Swinton got to do her favourite thing; walk around sadly and silently. Fuck you Kevin.

Hellboy II: The Golden Army 2008
This film certainly worked in the way it got me - and my mum who could hear it from upstairs - to sing "Can't Smile Without You" repeatedly. It also works when del Toro shows off his prosthetic monsters, as Golden Army is a superhero film disguising itself as fantasy, complete with elves and trolls and, uh, tooth fairies.
However, what Hellboy II lacks is any consistent pacing, making the film plod along. Sure, there is no end to itsβ¦

The Suicide Squad 2021
Not only did this blow the previous Suicide Squad out of the water, not that that was a difficult thing to do, but it is actively a great, hilarious, entertaining, and unique-feeling film. It's certainly the best thing DC have done in their 2010s output.
This was all a really pleasant surprise because I was expecting something mildly enjoyable from the trailer, but found myself laughing throughout, with a brilliant cast of interestingly powered "superheroes" and such treats as Peterβ¦
