Surprisingly funny, well written, and captivating. The animation is atrocious, but it has some heart. The structure of this story is just really fun and it all comes together nicely. Sad this couldn't have had a bigger budget, because there's a lot to love here. From an era of a lot of terrible kids movies, this one stands out as one of the best.

I went in with high expectations, and this film still blew me away. Simply fantastic cinema. Anthony Hopkins is shockingly brilliant, even for his standards. It’s a unique and moving portrayal of a man with dementia, completely gripping from start to finish. In an odd way, perhaps it’s even thrilling. I can’t rave enough about this. In 2007, Paul Thomas Anderson delivered us this fantastically immersive, ultra-compelling drama. It has aged like fine wine. Daniel Day Lewis gives what is in strong contention for the greatest performance of the century to date. Paul Dano is brilliant in support. At 2 hours and 38 minutes, it never feels dragged out- it's wholly captivating from start to finish. There's a lot going on in the plot, but it never feels messy, or even particularly hard to follow. Bottom…
