    Antlers

    ★★★★

Antlers is a folk horror tale about a small town Oregon teacher and her sheriff brother who discover that a young boy is harboring a dangerous secret.

Oh, what’s that? Guillermo del Toro was involved with the film? SOLD.

    *SPOILER SIDE NOTE*
That scene with the creature wearing the bloody, flappy, peeled off face of his old body was so fucking METAL.

    The Djinn

    ★★★

A decent little horror flick about a mute boy trapped in an apartment with an evil Djinn that wants to grant his deepest desire. Not the best, not the worst—just alright.

    Halloween Kills

    ★★★★★

Halloween Kills was everything I wanted it to be and more—it continues Michael’s night of terror from Halloween 2018 while adding new depth and shocking insight into the original 1978 Halloween. It is without a doubt the most violent and brutal film in the franchise to date—the kills are spectacularly gory. And as usual, the soundtrack is absolute perfection. I’m seriously so blown away right now, I could barely write a review. Holy shit.

    Side Note:
Watching Halloween 2018 and Halloween Kills back to back is one of the greatest double features since Halloween and Halloween II.

    Dune

    ★★½

Oh, man. I heard that David Lynch’s Dune was a notoriously bad movie, but I didn’t know how bad.

I almost shut it off 15mins in when I saw those absolutely god-awful CGI shields, but I powered through it so that I could honestly say that I gave it a chance. If you can look past the horrendous CGI, overuse of dated green screen shots, shoddy acting(aside from the Baron), and questionable pacing—there’s actually a pretty good story buried somewhere in here.

Now to see what all the hype over Dune(2021) is all about.
