Guess I’ll be the one to say it. I don’t get the hype. I came in with an open mind. In fact, I was eagerly anticipating this one. I saw the avalanche of positive reviews and got pretty excited myself to finally catch this in theaters. Not to mention this film, as of writing, is currently sitting at #1 all-time in the official Letterboxd Narrative Feature Films list.

For a movie with so many big names attached to it, Tom Hanks, Amy Adams, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Julia Roberts, Aaron Sorkin, this sure felt mediocre. But a good rule of thumb? How ever many scenes with PSH you think is enough, it’s not.
It took 34 minutes to get on the boat.
It took 64 minutes for the titular death.
It took 3 years to get a release date.
But I am still waiting on the amount of time it will take for me to remotely like or care about anything in Death on the Nile. It likely will never come.
