“My hands were free.”
A brilliantly written high concept genre film that remains true to the final shot (the ending is air punchingly brilliant). There’s a sequence that ends in an explosion of fireworks that is one of the most magnificently cinematic and assured pieces of editing, direction and acting I’ve seen in a horror film in years. Indeed, I’d say A Quiet Place is the best horror since It Follows. And the performances - especially from Emily Blunt - are deliciously visceral.
