    Hoo boy, the editing in this film. I love how Cassavetes lets dialogue run in a scene then cuts it mid-sentence. There's a scene when Rowlands' character is saying that she believes movies are a conspiracy because they sell the notion of romance as a tidy, promised aspect of life. And of course, this monologue ends up ending at a strange, unconventional point. At another point, some characters are watching The Maltese Falcon and the scene cuts in the middle…
