"If I wanted it, you'd be dead already!"
This movie has gotten some hate and I get that, people had their hypes up so high that they put themselves up for disappointment. The hype was so high that there was no way this movie could have met the hype, but for me I walked in expecting something a bit bland, but I got something that rocked my world.
I am going to break this movie down without spoiling anything, which is gonna be a bit tough. I'll start with the over-all. This is based on two very iconic comic series. One is obviously The Dark Knight Returns the other will majorly spoil a great aspect of the film. The overall movie moves between Batman and Superman in harmony and I loved how the movie felt perfectly half an half. There is a point where this movie switches tones, a big explosive point were the movie turns from a political thriller to a super-hero smack down. The switch is a bit sudden, but it is very welcome as one of the characters in the first half leaves at this point, which is good because I hated them.
Superman is better than he was in Man of Steel, and I though he was amazing in that. For those who don't know Superman is my favorite super hero of all time, and possible my favorite character of all time. He is basically perfect Superman throughout the length of the film.
Batman is damn near as perfect as he could be. He does do a few things that will make people confused, but I understood everything that he was doing and I loved it all. Even Alfred was a really interesting take on a character that has already been done well in the past.
Wonder Woman (who if you didn't know was in it congrats on missing every piece of marketing for this film) is a great. I loved how awesome she was and when she was finally revealed it was one of the best parts of the movie.
The fight was brutal, if not just a tad bit short. The time it was happening though, holy shit. I lost my mind. It was a beautiful spectacle to behold.
There are a few more characters that show up and they all do their job well, including some cameos with some soon-to-be Justice League members that I cannot wait to see in their full outings. One in particular looks amazing (didn't have the best cameo), but I cannot wait to see them in the Justice League, and their own film.
Overall I had a very great time with this, I know that people have differing opinions and I'm open to everyone's thoughts, but to me I found this to be very entertaining at times, very heart-breaking at times, very heart-pounding at times, and even very frightening at times. I had an amazing time and I think that people will love this or hate this depending on who they are, but give this a shot and find out for yourself.
