This movie is a mess and all over the place, which is both good and bad. It feels like a stylistic excercise most of the times, where the director had fun with every crazy idea he could come up with. I got extremely surprised by how things turned out to be eventually, but i can't say i really had a good time overall, the pacing is weird and the subject isn't really interesting, and i didn't like the soundtrack at all. There goes my De Palma adventure, it was a blast

This for me is no doubt peak De Palma, the definitive accomplishment of his career. It may get a bastardized look because it's still part of a very popular genre for the time from someone who had already its piece of cake, and yet it's an engaging a end-og-age syory. The direction here is great, De Palma using his experience of a classicist director here for the best, creating some memorable moments with a romantic and bitteraweet feel, blending together his favourite genres together

As a brief documentary about the event, it does its job showing different perspectives and reactions from the people inside it, but i see no real value on the filmmaking side. As interesting as optical illusions can be, this is iverall just a visual documentation that at its best shows the different emotions this type of art was capable to evoke on the people during 1965
