Darren Carver-Balsiger’s review published on Letterboxd:
Filled with hilarity, Hunt for the Wilderpeople is a charming film with both a compelling story and witty jokes. Not only is the cinematography of New Zealand wilderness immaculate, but Taika Waititi's ability to pace, edit and direct jokes is superb. In just a few years, he's really established himself as a much respected comedy director. There's very few criticisms to be had of Hunt for the Wilderpeople with the only major one being the rather unneeded wild boar-dog fight in the second-half which feels both overly forced and weirdly harsh. Otherwise though, Hunt for the Wilderpeople is a joy on every watch and truly majestical film.
