Darren Carver-Balsiger’s review published on Letterboxd:
Rocketman is an imaginative biopic in some ways, but mostly formulaic and sycophantic. I do appreciate however that it makes a real life fantasy out of events and is a proper musical. Taron Egerton gives it his all and is a compelling presence. Unfortunately Rocketman has the same bland, homogenised visual style as Bohemian Rhapsody, leading to a very flat depiction of history. Overall Rocketman is decently constructed and accompanied by a jukebox musical element that plasters over the many flaws, so it's generally fine.
