  Amazing quality animation and a story that packs in everything that a fan could want, without it being feel forced. There's action all the way through and when it comes to a conclusion, just stops. A great example of how to make a film based on a, relatively simple, video game.

  One question... when visiting Donkey Kong, they played Take on Me by A-ha. Was this a pun on "Take Kong.. Me"? Otherwise the song totally didn't fit.

  A nice idea, executed well. A lot of reviews were negative because of the comparison to the original 70's version of the film. Not having seen it, it's not affected my view, although a lot of that criticism appears to be around the fact that it's "different". Whatever those differences are, I don't believe a modern version is necessarily affected by changes that make it more relevant to a contemporary audience.
