Saw this at the cinema earlier in the month, definitely one of my favorites of the year. So deftly handled which is kind of a miracle considering its subject matter. Incredible performances from all leads but Melton in particular is so devastating. Funny and uncomfortable but also empathetic when it needed to be. A script like this landed in the perfect hands to be honest and Portman chose Haynes perfectly as the person to handle it.

‘Godzilla Minus One’ is not merely a kaiju film; it's a cinematic journey that transcends the genre. Probably my second favorite after ‘Shin Godzilla’. With its captivating story, stellar performances, breathtaking visuals, and a perfect blend of action and emotion, this film stands as a true gem in the franchise. A cinematic triumph, ‘Godzilla Minus One’ deserves every bit of praise, making it a must-watch, especially on the biggest screen possible. If you can see it in IMAX, I highly recommend.

Got to see two early screenings of this film and I’m just so happy. This film feels like a culmination of every movie Miyazaki has ever made, storytelling is charming and magical, akin to his classic films, yet thought provoking, emotional and very metaphorical, similar to The Wind Rises. It combines both of these storytelling styles extremely well, and ends up making his most "complete" work in my opinion. Pacing is a little slow at the start, but provides an…

Grandiose, Messy, muddled, historic dramatization with terrific cinematography and production design. This screenplay feels malnourished, as if a 4 hour epic has been forcefully cut short to 2h40mins. Entire acts are not fleshed out, scenes end abruptly and the editing is jarring. Although it's surprising valleys, the film has its fair share of peaks. A stellar performance by the entire cast. The history is slightly modified for dramatic purposes, and Joaquin Phoenix is very dramatic. He as usual delivers a…

I’d be lying to you if I said that the production design, cinematography and performance from Ana de Armas were terrible, because they aren’t whatsoever, but it’s hard to appreciate these things when what you are watching on screen is repulsive.

What could've been an exploration of exploitation and an intimate look at Marilyn Monroe's life behind the fame, it chooses to further exploit the actress and positions itself more like distasteful porn. It should’ve been a biopic.
