This movie opens with a couple having an excruciatingly long argument about whether the man should pay for a meal even in a situation where the woman makes more money. I mean, why should people adhere to these outdated gender norms anyway? Somebody has to take a stand sometime, even if it means creating an awkward situation for you and everyone at the restaurant.
