Pretty much completely pointless. I saw this well before its official release at an AFI Fest screening; I had mixed feelings about it then, but I think I cut it some slack due to elements of the art direction, the lead performance by Marianne Jean-Baptiste, and the perfectly spooky and surreal score by Cavern Of Anti-Matter. Sadly, that’s really all I can recommend here, and on a second viewing again last night, my tolerance for Strickland’s arch affectations, deeply unlikable characters…
