Dave Courtney’s review published on Letterboxd:
This film only gets better on rewatch. Destined to be a classic, and certainly contending as one of my favorite films of the year.
A couple things stood out for me on a second viewing:
1. The film is chalk full of memorable sequences. From scene to scene to scene it made me feel like if I missed a single beat or section of the frame or minor detail I would be missing something hugely important.
2. The structure is incredible. The way it recreates the time period is awe inspiring in its own right, but the way it feeds every thread into each other from the movie within the movie layered against Dicaprio's story which is layered against the story of the stunt double which is layered against the story of ranch and Sharon Tate which is layered against history which is layered against alternative history. That it all leads up to such a particular and powerful redemptive arc is mindboggeling to me.
Incredible film through and through.
