Whiplash – Be a total asshat to friends and colleagues and when they ask you to justify your asshattery, tell them you're simply trying to unlock the dormant genius within them. It will be OK. This is a far better option than quietly noticing that someone has great potential and actually attempting to nurture it in a calm and polite manner. This is a stupid idea and by doing this you will probably not discover a new genius and your life will be rendered worthless. Sorry. I realise my life goals are extremely and depressingly modest, and I also realise how cloistered I am from... other people and their interests. But is the idea of people (above the age of 4) consciously aspiring to be the greatest in their chosen field an actual thing?
