    I Have Him

    No... He Has Us

Finally, after a couple of terrible spin-off's against Alien & two terrible Predator films, this worthy prequel to the first two Predator movies was a great addition to the franchise
The fact it features an unknown cast helped it immensely & although there were a few chinks in its armour, overall, I enjoyed this a lot more than I expected

  • Braindead

    Your Mother Ate My Dog
    Not All Of It

What starts out as a sweet romantic comedy soon escalates into a magnificent cross between Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, The Thing & Re-Animator to become one of, if not the bloodiest, goriest & most inventively hilarious movies ever made

A kiss on the hand may be quite continental
But diamonds are a girl's best friend

Thank you BBC4 - another film I've seen in bits & pieces but never fully until tonight

Parts of this film having aged well at all but one thing is undeniable, Jane Russell & Marilyn Monroe are electrifying together & along with some genuine laugh out loud moments, more than make up for many of the faults

  • Lightyear

    I'm gonna be blunt here
    I wish that hadn't happened

That pretty much sums up this film, I went in with an open mind & I was still disappointed.
There is hardly anything about this film that actually works - it certainly doesn't work when taken in the context that Andy saw the film & wanted Buzz & nor does it work on its own, being nothing more than a sequence of setups that rip off virtually every science fiction/space based movie

  • Adaptation.

Well that was interesting, didn't fully get into it as much a i thought but definitely need to watch it again

    We Created Her Life

I don't care that this doesn't bother explaining how Herbert West survived the massacre or indeed how Dr. Hill's head survived his crushing defeat (there's still so much that isn't known about the serum after all), because other than a couple of minor issues, this is just as good as its predecessor - being a damn good melding of the HP Lovecraft stories & Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, full of even more creative effects & macabre humour, I love…

  • Re-Animator

    HE'S DEAD?

Hilarious, horrifying, campy, gory, even a little thought provoking & with some truly inventive physical prosphetic effects, this defining horror classic with a career defining role from Jeffrey Combs as Herbert West is aging magnificently

    I didn't bring your breakfast
Because you didn't eat your din-din!

Possibly the greatest movie of art imitating life that's ever been & will be - it's no secret the two actresses hated each other but watching this, it's clear they kinda loved & respected each other just as much

    Children of Men

How can it be peaceful when they try to take away your dignity?

When this started I didn't think I was gonna like it but as soon as things began escalating & boy do they escalate, it thoroughly picked up & never stopped - beautifully filmed & acted, if I have one fault, I just wish it was a little longer
