David Cuevas’s review published on Letterboxd:
When it comes to cinema, I'm okay with a film being cliche, just as long as the cast and crew do something new with the execution of said cliche's. Aquarius, falls right under this criteria. What could have been a meandering soap opera about a woman falling into the hands of a despicable land developer (which is massively overdone and satirized in entertainment by this point), Aquarius ended up being a brutally honest film about motherhood that was equal parts charming as it is pure. Even with it's 148 minute run time, there is not a single moment out of place!
A great underrated gem.
