    About Time

Pretty average as a whole although the third act does have some great moments

  • Tenet

Tenet has a lot to be commended for, it’s tight, the practical effects work great, visually appealing, a great cast and last but not least a pretty great concept. The only question is does Nolan capitalise on this concept?

    Well, kind of...

Tenet suffers from wanting to have its time bending cake and eat it too. In a lot of ways it feels bloated, convoluted and a bit like the product of the “complex” Christopher Nolan circle jerk that’s been…

    Ready or Not

It’s dumb fun, didn’t think it was as great as I’ve heard from a lot of people but nevertheless there are certainly worse ways to spend an hour and a half

Big fan of Samara Weaving though, hoping to see her a lot more

  • Bad Trip

    Bad Trip

While I definitely laughed I didn’t think it was as funny as it should have been

  • Portrait of a Lady on Fire

Portrait of a Lady on Fire

I’m really sorry about this one…

  • mother!

I’m really really torn on this one

While I absolutely loved the third act and how deep down the rabbit hole it went the first two acts bored me to tears, I seriously considered turning it off.

I think that the creator v nature discussion was done quite well however I also think that at point Aronofsky went a bit too self indulgent.

Still though I commend him for the ambition of the project and thought it was very interesting…

  • Onward

Was going to give this move a 3.5 once I’d finished but after giving it time to sit I don’t think it has as much staying power as I would have liked.

Still though a fun movie with a pretty good emotional core, wish they would have leaned in to the mystical elements of the world a little more and maybe even gotten a little darker in places but overall still a fun movie that I think most people can enjoy

  • Seeking a Friend for the End of the World

Seeking a Friend for the End of the World

    I really like the ending

  • Child's Play

    Child's Play

It’s really really dumb but it’s also a whole lot of fun, came out enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would

About on par with the original for me

  • The Art of Self-Defense

    The Art of Self-Defense

It was a good time but it kind of felt like a Big Mac without secret sauce

  • Killer Joe

    Killer Joe

That final act was fucking intense and pretty well done but apart from that it’s pretty dry

Matthew McConahay was fucking A+ though
