This movie film is probably the most impactful piece of work I have ever seen. As I said in my original review I had no interest in Amy Winehouse before watching this, I decided to give it a go  based on the good words of one comment I saw on facebook.

Somehow though, I still think about this movie almost everyday. A misunderstood and tortured soul that we as a society collectively turned our backs on and instead turned in to a walking headline factory that we could laugh at.

    A real modern day tragedy

    RIP Amy

  • Magnolia

I wish PTA still made movies like this, like yeah sure The Master and There Will Be Blood are obviously great but i feel like they lack a lot of personality when compared to this or Boogie Nights.

All the performances are great with Tom Cruise surprisingly being the stand out. It’s a lot to digest in one viewing and I feel as if upon a rewatch more of the themes and nuances will start to reveal themselves.

Really beautiful movie and does not feel it’s length at all. Not quite as good as Boogie Nights but definitely worth a watch

For a movie as wild and outlandish as this one it somehow manages to have such a cozy and warm vibe. All the performances are great and the melancholic vibe of some of the scenes really lends a lot of personality (not that it didn’t have tons already)

Also the score is fucking incredible

So close to perfect, just a little bit too long

Without a doubt a movie that everybody should see at least once
