  • The Master

    The Master

I remember really disliking this movie when I first saw it but upon rewatch it’s pretty great.

I still think it’s a bit overlong but the performances and BEAUTIFUL cinematography more than make up for it.

Maybe the real master was the friendship we made along the way 🥺🤘🏼

  • Nightcrawler

It should go without saying at this point but this movie slaps

If you don’t like this movie I’m very sorry but Its out of my control, I don’t respect your opinion

I’m kidding, but Nightcrawler is great and you should watch it now

  • Eastern Promises

    Eastern Promises

Everything in this movie is done extremely well, from Vigo Mortensen’s excellent performance to Cronenberg's masterful direction.

I was going to give this movie a 4.5 but everything in the end wrapped up just a little bit too neatly for my liking

  • Richard Jewell

    Richard Jewell

So no one was gonna tell me that Paul Walter Hauser gave the best male performance of 2019 and didn’t even get nominated?

Easily Eastwood’s best directorial effort since Million Dollar Baby and I wish it garnered more attention, particularly regarding the excellent preformances from just about everybody involved

Found this to be quite hard to watch at times and actually impacted me quite a bit which I was not expecting

Highly recommend  checking this one out and not letting Eastwood’s recent trail of duds put you off

  • Little Women

    Little Women

I had quite literally 0 interest in this movie at all but I was pleasantly surprised

David Tennant is riveting in a tense and fascinating serial killer drama

I’ve also never been the first to log a review about anything so yippee

  • Booksmart

    A lot better than expected.

Poignant, warm and funny with some great central performances and writing.

A very formulaic story and you can tell exactly where it’s going but a very good time nonetheless

  • Hustlers

    This movie rocks

a really solid romp with slick direction and a great energy. All the performances ranged from good to great but the screen presence that J-Lo bought was something really special.

It did definitely feel it’s length and I wish it showed a bit more of the decline of the relationship between the main protagonists as well as focusing a bit more on the repercussions.

Also Cardi B was surprisingly good in her minor role and I wish she was in it more.

Overall a great surprise and something I could recommend to most people.

  • Sorry to Bother You

    Sorry to Bother You

    This movie is fucking weird

    Really fucking good
    But really fucking weird

I don’t really wanna get in to any more detail because I feel like the best way to experience this movie is by going in blind, I unfortunately had a pretty big part of it spoiled for me and I imagine that if that hadn’t happened this could’ve gotten to 5 stars. What I will say however is that this is worth a watch just for the rap scene alone.

Also Lakeith is fucking great and should really be in the spotlight more often

  • Three Identical Strangers

    Three Identical Strangers

What starts as something really fun and wholesome quickly evolves in to something dark, unethical and sad yet entirely fascinating

If you have any interest whatsoever in psychology or the underbelly of scientific research I would implore you to check this one out.

My only issue is that for a relatively short run time is does feel very long especially towards the end

  • The Dark Knight Rises

    The Dark Knight Rises

Unfortunately a very easy movie to criticise, it seems that too much of the attention went towards the scale of the film and as a result the script is a lot weaker than what I’m used to with Nolan films (I know they all have their cheesy and dumb moments but they’re largely pretty tight).

But fuck it it’s a whole lot of fun and I’m certainly entertained every time I watch it, I think it definitely has the best action in the series and is overall a satisfying wrap up.

  • Bad Education

    Bad Education

Nice to see Hugh Jackman put his own spin on Patrick Bateman

Also I’m really enjoying this Ray Romano resurgence
