i guess i shouldn't be surprised that the movie that everyone *hated* at Sundance turns out to be one of the few watchable ones at the fest.
yes it's silly, yes it's overripe, yes it's downright offensive that this movie – once called "Perfect Mothers" and then "Two Mothers" and now "Adore – has never been called by the title that god jesus yahweh obviously wants it to have, "Motherfuckers." but naomi watts. i rest my case.
also, for all of its tawdriness, this overlong film at least has the courage to honor its most formative themes (even at the expense of its non-characters), as is illustrated by how it doesn't resist the ending it deserves.
