Surprisingly fun home-invasion-noir. John Barrymore Jr. is BAD and downright scary. Jerry Mathers is traumatized when he witnesses a crime (the antithesis of his 'The Trouble With Harry' role), and Betty Garret is lovely and shrewd. She's always the "smart girl," but she gets to be more delicate here than usual. Lovely noir cinematography, sharp editing, and sexy score. Many noirs are fun in a nostalgic way - but this one is as truly tense now as it was then. Classic.
