    The Pacifier

Too much on the ridiculous front to be considered quality comedy. The jokes are mostly flat and a number of scenes fall on the side of stupidity, like VP Murney aka Little Puppet (played by Brad Garrett) thinking he could out-wrestle a former Navy Seal in Diesel's character. As if!

But I can't totally knock it as it WAS the first film role for comely Brittany Snow, and Diesel showed he had some comedic flair aside from kicking ass in The Fast and the Furious. So it's a passable flick.

Enjoyable flick for what it was -- the Rock saving the world (for what feels like the 20th time in his movie career), this time with the help of George, his sign-language-learned genetically mutated gorilla, George.

Two highlights for me from this film:

    A) JDM channeling his alter-ego Negan from Walking Dead.

    B) that supersized crocodile was a blast! The best of the altered beasts.

Well the movie was rock solid -- enjoyable story; pirate adventure in space; the dreaded Reavers; captain Mal Reynolds in Han Solo form; the girl named…

I had high hopes for EWS, since it IS Richard Linklater's ode to his previously stellar film, Dazed and Confused. And I thought that was a pretty darn good flick! D&C had to do with the the last days of high school in Texas, 1976. Now fast forward a few years in time and you have this jumbled mess of a movie, set in 1980 and all about the boys of a fictitious college baseball team in Texas. All they…
